Myoko is located fairly close to a number of other popular ski and snowboard resort areas in neighbouring Nagano Prefecture including Madarao Kogen, Nozawa Onsen and Shiga Kogen (regional map). It is also a popular onsen hot springs and nature resort all year round and in recent years there has been a large increase in the number of visitors from overseas.

:: Niigata Prefecture is located in the central region of Honshu to the north of Tokyo and has a 250km long coastline facing the Sea of Japan.
